What this site is, and what it is not

lolchampions.gg is a place to look at League of Legends, not a place to read a leaderboard. The work of the site is splash art, skin lines, wallpapers, and fan art, filed so you can find one champion’s pictures without wading through a patch feed. If you opened the site to put Spirit Blossom Ahri next to K/DA, or to save a Jinx splash for a desktop, stay. If you opened it to see who is winning this week, you want a different site.

We do not publish live win rates, pick rates, or rune pages. Those numbers move every patch, and a gallery that guesses them is worse than a blank page. For ranked builds, matchup samples, and a current tier list, use U.GG or OP.GG, and treat the date on their capture as part of the answer. When we publish a tier page, it is a dated snapshot with the source written on it. The Patch 26.17 list is labeled historical on purpose. That label is not a quiet way of saying the meta stood still.

The shelves are not the same click.

A champion hub is the character page. Open one when you already know the name and you want that splash set, the wallpaper links, and a short public-lore note in the same view. The note is the published fantasy — who they are, and the mood of the art — not a matchup chart. The hub answers what the champion looks like and which skins have a splash. It does not answer what to build.

The Skin Browser is the cross-roster view. Use it when you are comparing a line, whether that is Star Guardian, PROJECT, High Noon, or K/DA, across several champions instead of camping on one hub. Splash files come from Riot’s Data Dragon, the public art CDN, so you are looking at the official splash rather than a redraw. Chromas usually share a parent splash. If the store’s count looks higher than the pictures on a hub, that is the usual reason. We do not invent skin names to close the gap. If Data Dragon does not have the file yet, the browser will not pretend.

Wallpapers are that same official splash, filed so you can save one image instead of cropping a champion page. Start there when you want a background and you either know the champion or you want to scan. Fan Art is a separate shelf. Those files are not Riot splash. They stay labeled as fan art, off the Data Dragon pile, so you can tell an official image from a fan piece without decoding a filename.

A normal visit is short. Scroll until the champion is the one you meant. Open the hub for the set in one place, the Skin Browser if you are shopping a theme, Wallpapers if you are about to set a background, Fan Art if you want something that is not the official splash. When the question changes from what it looks like to what you buy in game, leave. The guide pages and the comparison pages link to U.GG and OP.GG for that reason. We would rather send you out than print a number we did not measure.
