Ahri is the most-played mid laner in League of Legends and for good reason. She combines reliable damage, point-and-click CC (Charm), and unmatched mobility through her triple-dash ultimate. She was buffed in patch 26.5, then nerfed in 26.6 after overperforming — she now sits at a healthy 50.89% win rate, strong but balanced. This guide covers everything you need to carry games on her.
Runes
Electrocute is the standard keystone — it procs easily on the W auto-attack combo and gives meaningful burst damage in lane. Take Sudden Impact for extra magic pen on E, Eyeball Collection for scaling, and Ultimate Hunter to reduce R cooldown (letting you use it more aggressively). Secondary: Presence of Mind and Legend: Haste for cooldown reduction. Sorcery tree is the alternative for players who prefer Arcane Comet into safe poke matchups.
Item Build
Start Doran's Ring + 2 Health Pots. Rush Luden's Tempest for the burst, move speed on proc, and wave-clear. Follow with Shadowflame for magic pen into squishier targets, or Zhonya's Hourglass if you need survivability. Rabadon's Deathcap third dramatically multiplies your AP. Void Staff when enemies start building magic resist. Sorcerer's Shoes are standard; swap to Ionian Boots of Lucidity if you need more cooldown reduction.
Skill Order
Max Q (Orb of Deception) first — it's your primary wave-clear and trading tool. Max E (Fox-Fire) second for extra damage in fights. W (Charm) is maxed last since its power comes from the CC, not damage. Take R (Spirit Rush) at levels 6, 11, and 16 as normal.
Tips to Carry
The most important skill on Ahri is Charm angle — walk sideways to force the enemy to move laterally before landing E. Start trades with W auto-attack to proc Electrocute, then E into Q for a full combo. Use R offensively to close distance or defensively to escape — don't save all three dashes for escapes or you'll sacrifice kills. In teamfights, look for flanks and charm the highest-priority target rather than dashing blindly into the fight.
